Soroptimist International of Redding 2016/2017

Soroptimist International of Redding has a very rich history here in Shasta County.  We will observe our 70th Anniversary this fall with a celebration on November 5th at the Elks Lodge.  Our list of achievements and service is very long.

The objectives of the club are: To pursue the vision that women and girls have the resources to reach their full potential and live their dreams,  programs leading to social and economic empowerment, and to work in coalition with Soroptimist International of the Americas and other Soroptimist federations.Dream it, Be it“, one of our programs, targets girls in secondary schools who face obstacles to their future success.  It provides girls with access to professional role models, career education, and resources to “Live their dreams“. We will continue to work with One Safe Place, an organization for victims of domestic violence, and help stop human trafficking. This coming year we will be hosting our 19th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon on October 7, 2016 at the Holiday Inn.  Anyone needing breast cancer detection services and who does not have adequate insurance can qualify for a free mammogram and other breast cancer detection services with funds raised from this event.

My theme for this year is “Better Together” and I believe with every ounce of my being that we are better together.  Please join us as we serve.

With Love, Respect, and Integrity.
